Putt'n my hammer to work!

My sister Jill, counting her blocks she needed
KOna 2nd Ward Relief Society...gett'n busy

My sister Tara gettin started...lining up her nails..

And this is ME...hammering away to bring home my proud box to show my hubby that I can actually build something...Yay

The strength of the sisters in our Kona 2nd..

The finished product......

Tonight at Enrichment night in our Ward...us sisters made our very own "Garden Boxes"...the wood and the fillers inside were pre-cut for us by brethren in our ward..so all we had to do was partner up and get to hammer'n! Man after a couple tries at nail'n it in...I was really appreciating my husband a whole lot and wishing he wasn't working so he could help me out! But luckily Olani and my Bro. inlaw tony came to the rescue when we got stuck! I totally value my husbands craftsmanship after givn' a few wacks to our garden boxes with the hammer tonight!...about 25 sisters signed up! It was great...all of us on the floor making a garden box to take home! I love our ward, I'm a little bias because it is so different being a member of this gospel in the Islands! I've lived on the mainland for the majority of my life and I don't believe we have this same kind of connection like we do in Hawaii! My older son Amari had cub scouts at the chapel, so it made out to be a long evening for the kids! They had babysitting, so our kids were able to hang out with Iris in the nursery while we built our boxes! Then they had the best dinner following our "gettin' all rough wit our hammers"..of chicken enchilda's with fresh toppings of cherry tomatoes, mango salsa, feta cheese, beans, tortillas, parmesean egg plant casserole and chocolate brownies...Yum OH...by 9:30 we wrapped it up and I drove home with a van full of sleepy kids!..It's times like these that you want your kids to stay young forever! I can hardly believe that I'm going to be 31 this October!! Where has the time really gone? Today made me very grateful and thankful for all that I have in my life!

What an awesome ward you have! So much support and care for the little ones so that you can finish your activities, go to the temple, etc. I love reading your posts because your so positive and appreciative of everything the Lord has given you. Enjoy! Happy Valentine's Day with your honey!
