Today was a normally busy day for me! It's still summer break for our children for about the next 10 days and counting, so they come everywhere with me, because they are all under the age of 10...anywho I finished all of my million and one errands and came home to get the twins settled for their afternoon nap. I decided to make my dad's classic recipe of "Hamburger and Cabbage"...and as I started cooking that wonderful smell of the garlic and hamburger together; it completely took me back to my childhood days in Hau'ula at my Grandma Evan's house. Just that
smell of good cooking, kids running around outside laughing in the culdesac, sweet tropical air blowing through the house and that inner peaceful feeling of just knowing that everything was just perfect today!...I immediately felt this huge amount of gratitude for everything I have. And at that very moment I just paused in great thoughts of my childhood!
Missing my grandma and Mom who have since passed away. Feeling those feelings today brought back the greatest memories of my childhood. The "Hamburger and Cabbage" turned out perfect. My kids love putting Ketchup on it. My twins grubbed a huge bowl of it. Dad, I believe I did your dish Proud!...Today wasn't so crazy afterall.
